Verizon is now being sued (link via textually) for $5 Million (USD), adding to the recent wave of litigation against mobile phone companies for collaborating with the U.S. National Security Agency in its massive and illegal program to wiretap and data-mine Americans’ communications.
In typical gargantuan-wireless-company-in-bed-with-the-feds style, Verizon neither confirmed nor denied their participation because, they said, the NSA program is “highly classified”.
Seems that U.S. wireless companies are not immune from the political fallout of the United States’ emulation of China in the area of citizens’ privacy rights.
