With apologies to those with little interest in Vancouver civic politics…
Gregor Robertson has called for an open council meeting concerning the $100 million in financing that our City is lending to a defaulting Olympic village developer on our behalf.
Gregor, why not convene this open meeting before the election? It is alarming that NPA, Vision, and COPE candidates all voted to approve this loan. I think Vancouver voters deserve to hear why, and before they cast their votes.
It is even more alarming that the City is contractually on the hook for this, and that due to a VANOC agreement signed in secret in 2002.
“Gregor, what will you do to mitigate this disaster?” is probably the appropriate question overall.
